Championships

A total of six major Junior Tournament events, as well as some added special events, will be held at MGA Links. Please note that as part of the membership fee, all junior members will receive an official tournament packet which will include entry forms for all six Major events.

I) Parent-Child Tournaments
The three Parent-Child Tournaments offered in 2008 will be 18-hole events featuring shotgun starts and a post-round meal. The entry fee for each Parent-Child Tournament is $30 for each two-person team.

Saturday, May 17 – 1:00 p.m. start
Format: One best ball of 2

Saturday, June 21 – 1:00 p.m. start
Format: Select drive alternate shot.

Saturday, September 20 – 1:00 p.m. start
Format: Scramble & Best Ball

Please note these events are limited to the first 80 players!

II) Member-Member Tournaments
Two Member-Member Tournaments will be conducted in 2008. Members must sign up as a two-person team. The entry fee is $10 per player.

Saturday, June 7 – 11:00 a.m. start
Format: 1 Best Ball of 2

Sunday, June 8 – 9:00 a.m. start
Format: 2-man Scramble

September 13 & 14 – 11:00 a.m. start
Format: 6-6-6 (Best Ball, Scramble, Alternate Shot)

III) Club Championship
The Annual MGA Links Junior Club Championship will be held on July 31 – August 2. There will be two divisions: stroke play and match play. Players will be able to compete in one or the other divisions, but not both.

Thursday, July 31
Qualifying rounds for both divisions – 3:00 p.m.

Friday, August 1
1st Round of Match Play – 8:00 a.m.
2nd Round of Match Play – 12:00 p.m.
1st Round of Stroke Play – 12:00 p.m.

Saturday, August 2
Match Play Semifinals – 8:00 a.m.
Match Play Finals – 12:30 p.m.
Final Round of Stroke Play – 8:00 a.m.

* The 10 & Under division will play a 9-hole championship beginning at 10:00 a.m.
