Meet the Staff

Peter Walsh, Head Golf Professional

Mike Haberl photoThis year marks Peter Walsh's third year as head golf professional at MGA Links. Walsh, who currently resides in Cumberland, Rhode Island, comes to the Norton course after seven years as assistant golf professional at Norfolk Golf Club in Westwood. While at Norfolk, Walsh was responsible for all facets of the daily golf operations including teaching, pro shop management and staffing. In addition, the 1995 Assumption College graduate coordinated the club’s summer junior program.

 

Chris Johnson, Golf Course Superintendent

Mike Haberl photoManaging the golf course superintendent operations is Chris Johnson, who arrived at MGA Links after serving for three years as golf course superintendent at Milford Country Club, a 9-hole, par 3 executive course. Johnson, who is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of New England (GCSANE), will be responsible for maintaining the 29-acre Norton facility. For the past two seasons, Johnson worked alongside the TPC of Boston staff as a volunteer greenskeeper during Deutsche Bank Championship week.

Mike Haberl photoGery -- better know to all who visit the MGA Links pro shop as Jake -- has served as the pro shop assistant since the club's opening in 2003. Jake handles all of the day-to-day operations of the club and is the first friendly face that visitors encounter upon entering the pro shop.

 

 

Joe McCabe, Executive Director of The First Tee of Massachusetts & ForeKids Golf Program

Joe McCabe begins his fifth year at MGA Links and second year as executive director of The First Tee of Massachusetts and the ForeKids Golf Program. As executive director, Joe is in charge of managing the nationally-heralded MGA ForeKids Golf Program as well as The First Tee of Massachusetts programming.
